Welcome to PALS!

The Pocono Action Lambda Society (PALS) is an organization of Lesbians and gay men who meet monthly for friendship, networking, fund-raising and, of course, food!

About PALS
PALS has over 400 members of all ages, sizes, colors and creeds, so whether you are an area resident or weekend visitor, you are welcome to join us!

PALS Members come from a diverse geographic area, including Monroe, Pike, Wayne and Northampton Counties in Pennsylvania; Sussex County in northern New Jersey and Orange and Sullivan Counties in southern New York.  Many members also live in the New York City or Philadelphia metropolitan areas, and have weekend retreats in the Poconos and surrounding counties.

PALS meets on the third Saturday of every month.  The location changes each month as meetings are hosted by various members of the group.  One month the meeting might be in Stroudsburg, the next month, Marshall's Creek or Milford, then down to Bangor or into Sussex County, NJ.   Meetings include a pot-luck dinner, with everyone contributing to the feast.

For the most part the evenings are spent socializing.  They also include a brief business meeting during which we discuss organizational activities, fund-raising efforts and pertinent information regarding gay civil rights and other issues of social justice.  Occasionally, there may be a guest speaker from another local organization.  PALS monthly meetings are a great way to meet lesbians and gay men who live in or have a strong connection to the area.

If you are new to the area or just visiting - give us a call for more information.  Or better yet, come to a meeting and find out what PALS is all about!

While the majority of PALS members are gay and lesbian, everyone is welcome.  There is a nominal annual membership fee (which is not tax deductible).  Your membership fee includes a subscription to PALS' monthly newsletter, access to our member's only info on this site, and free admission to the Annual Ball.  Our membership list is STRICTLY confidential.  Not even other members have access to your name, address or phone number.
